AIR TERJUN DUA WARNA (TWO COLOUR WATERFALL)

This is located at sibolangit area, can reach around one and half hour from Medan heading to berastagi. You have to prepare everything because you will do the exciting and tired trekking. You have to bring change cloth, trekking shoes, mineral water and snack.

Arriving at sibolangit, turn right and pas the entrance gate of sibolangit scout field, which was used for international scout field on 1992. Around 10 minutes from here you will arrive at local guide association centre. They will meet and greet you, pay for entrance fee and guide fee then ready to start.

Normally it needs two or two and half hours to walk to reach the waterfall. Start to trek, the local tour guide walk in front. They look very fast because I though they go every day, or can say that is their job. But don’t worry they will wait you if you are tired.

1 MAIMUN PALACE (ISTANA MAIMUN)

Maimun palace was built in 1888 by the 9^th sultan “maimun perkasa alamsyah”.it was the centre of deli sultanate. Built in the area covers 2.700 m2 with the building style are Indian, Europe and Malay concept. It is located on katamso street and be the land mark of Medan. Many visitors domestic and international visit this building for its historical and unique design. Now although still got sultan but no more power of the sultan because of Indonesian government system is presidential. So the palace declared to be heritage.

 

MAIMOON PALACE-MEDAN

2 GRAND MOSQUE (MASJID RAYA) MEDAN

It was built in 1906 and first to use was September 1909. This was built by sultan maimun perkasa alamsyah”. it belongs to royal sultanate. The architect was van erp who was also design maimun palace and some heritage buildings in Medan, but then continued by ja tindeman design mixing style middle east,Morocco,Malay and Europe.
